Did I ever talk about these girls I draw? Part of me wants to make stories and animations with them. The other part of me wants to play Quake 3 Arena. This is troublesome because that second part of me has a rail gun.
So here's the big lo-down on them. I have a sci-fi universe with these characters in mind. Not sci-fi with droids and lazers, but more like... well, did you see
Lunas? Stuff that's just a little out there.
Nala - You saw her in a woodsy environment I vaguely drew some years ago. That's how she lives at the '

resent' - in a tropical climate and comfortable surroundings. It's quite a contrast from the back-story I have for her - living in a crowded capitalist society somewhere far off. From a young age she had been a city girl, though you wouldn't know it now. Her ancestors had always lived in natural environments, living easy lives in small tribes, never mingling with city types - until the time came when they had to. Kinda similar to the native Americans whose lives were overtaken by this densely populated hoard. Nala ended up in this dense society and, on some level, hated it. For years she was stuck in degrading jobs, putting up with the daily grind with a 'that's life' attitude. She tried moving away, just to find herself in a new city with the same old problems and it became clear that there was no place on the planet to run. It had all been overtaken by this capitalist hive. Around that time, a young construction worker saw her working at a restaurant, saw the way she appeared and decided all at once she didn't belong there. He tried to pull her away from that life, without success, but then they came across someone -
Lunas - She's a wild one. She recently left the armed forces and has since been working as a mechanic near the city. She was at a bar looking for a guy to grab and finds the young construction worker there. He didn't seem very up-beat. "What the hell's up with you?" And when he tells about himself and Nala, Lunas suggests leaving the planet outright. It so happens that she owned a device left over from military service - a saucer-shaped craft that was pretty good for interstellar flight. She also knows a secluded planet where people can go and live without being bothered. That's where Nala and the construction worker go. They end up alone, at first, but Nala has no trouble populating the forest and starting a small tribe. Lunas remains near the city and still has her share of story-worthy stuff happening.
Aisha and
Colleen - are both in that tribe, although Aisha likes to get around and only comes back once in a while, returning long enough to push out some eggs and then she's off again. She meets a lot of guys out there and pretty much fucks like a bunny. It's thanks to her that the tribe has an excellent gene pool and doesn't have inbreeding problems. Colleen, I haven't given a developed personality yet. She's mostly a brat, sometimes complaining about being pregnant, but then insisting on doing it again. She's Nala's second daughter and has a genetic quirk whereby her eggs come out her bellybutton.
Savia - The gene weaver. She is a ruling force in this galaxy (which will probably be a neighbor of the Milky Way). She and her sister and brother are a sort of oligarchy who consider most star systems their property. They are viewed as angels, and have a tight religious control over the masses. They decide who lives, who dies, and how quickly civilizations can advance. Savia governs evolution and makes most of the decisions. (I haven't decided, yet, how they'll interact with Nala and co.)
Samentia - Savia's sister. She looks similar to Savia but is a complete brute, behaviorally. She is very impatient, always on the edge, ready to wipe out the next civilization that questions their authority. Savia tends to make the rules and Samentia enforces them.
(Savia's brother who I haven't named) - He has a business-man appearance and makes it his job to psychologically overtake new civilizations, introducing social systems and hierarchies that turn the civilization into a resource for the oligarchy. His appearance itself is a deception; he is actually a grey-type humanoid who cloaks himself as an approachable human leader.
And then there's some others. A lot of others, actually. I have ideas that just never go down on paper.
Also, the renovated grid is wonderful. I can't wait for the expansion grid
